The sensor works as advertised. The double sided mounting tape doesn't hold very well -- sensor kept falling off the door. I replaced it with my own tape and things are fine now. I can't speak for battery life, but I am still on my first set, a few months in, and it is still working. Know that this device is offline except for when the state changes - meaning home automation can't check the current state, only be notified when it changes. Not a bit dealbreaker for me.
